Setting The Frequencies*

Payout Settings and Player Experience

We strongly believe that maintaining a fair payout is essential to the long-term success and sustainability of the Kiwikrane franchise. A target payout of 30% is considered optimal.

To achieve this, backup prize assist frequency settings must be configured as follows:

  • $1 machines: (Cost of prize + max $1 freight) ÷ 0.3
  • $2 machines: (Cost of prize + max $1 freight) ÷ 0.6

This ensures that if a player does not win through skill within a reasonable spend, the machine will assist a win.

Examples:

  • $1 machine: $6 plush ÷ 0.3 = 20 (frequency)
  • $2 machine: $15 ball ÷ 0.6 = 25 (frequency)

Why this matters

Happy players lead to repeat business. We want Kiwikrane to be known nationwide for fair and consistent payouts.

Deliberately reducing payout settings to increase short-term profit undermines this reputation. It negatively impacts other franchisees and creates a false economy. While it may boost returns briefly, it ultimately reduces player trust and long-term performance.

Players need to win—and just as importantly, they need to see others winning, especially in high-visibility locations.

Fair payout settings are a key reason for Kiwikrane’s long-term success, while many competitors have failed to sustain their operations.

Compliance

Any machine found to have its frequency settings deliberately set below the prescribed formula will be considered a breach of the franchise agreement.
