Annual Compliance Email

Annual Compliance Email

Every March each Franchisee is asked to submit an Annual Compliance Email.

Kiwikrane prides itself on being the premier crane operator in New Zealand.

To ensure this reputation continues, it is essential that clear procedures are in place to protect the Kiwikrane brand nationally.

This Annual Compliance requires written confirmation that:

  1. All sited machines are electrically compliant.
  2. All sited machines are stocked and presented in accordance with national Kiwikrane standards.

Confirmation is required via email.

1. Electrical Compliance – Test and Tag

Kiwikrane machines fall under the AS/NZS 3760 standard, because our machines are located in environments where:

  • The equipment or supply cord is subject to flexing in normal use, OR
  • The equipment is open to abuse, OR
  • The equipment is located in a hostile or public access environment

…the maximum period between compliance testing (Test and Tag) is 12 months.

Important:

Kiwikrane machines are not hardwired. Therefore:

  • The machine must have a current Test and Tag sticker.
  • The power cord must also have a current Test and Tag sticker.

Some electricians and Test & Tag providers may not be aware that both components require tagging. Please ensure this is clearly communicated when booking your next inspection.

Why This Matters

Consider the consequences if:

  • A child were electrocuted, or
  • A crane caused a fire.

If the machine did not have a current Test and Tag, you may be unable to demonstrate that you took all reasonable steps to ensure public safety. This could result in:

  • Insurance denial
  • National brand damage
  • Venues refusing to host crane machines
  • Possible prosecution or claims for damage

There are many reasons why Kiwikrane mandates current Test and Tag certification for all sited machines.

2. Stocking & Presentation Compliance

As a national franchise system, consistency across the entire company is critical.

When the public sees a Kiwikrane machine, we want them to experience the same high standard regardless of which region they are in.

We want customers to recognise our brand as:

  • Fair to play
  • Well maintained
  • Professionally presented
  • Stocked with high-quality products

The relevant standards were previously outlined in National Notices dated: (click to reread)

National Stocking & Presentation Standards

Stocking Standard – Single Product Type With Similar Size

  • All products must be a similar size.
  • All products must be able to be picked up by the claw.
  • Toys that cannot be picked up by the claw cannot be used as “under-fill”.
  • Do not mix product types (e.g., plush and balls, rugby balls and basketballs).

Stocking Standard – Single Product Type With Similar Value

  • All products must have a similar value; OR
  • An average value must be used when setting frequency.
  • Frequency cannot be based on the highest value item when large price variations exist.

Stocking Standard – Full Stock Level

  • Machines must be stocked to the bottom of the front door.

Stocking Standard – Poster

  • Poster must relate to the product stocked (or no poster displayed).

Machine Standard

  • Machine must be clean, well presented, and properly maintained.

Confirmation must come from the franchisee or licensor, not a manager.

If your area is managed by someone else, the franchisee/licensor must consult with their manager to ensure compliance before submitting the declaration.

Failure to complete this declaration by the deadline will result in the franchisee’s stock account being placed on hold until completed.

Accountability is an important part of belonging to a national franchise/licensed system. It ensures every operator can have confidence that the Kiwikrane brand is being protected nationwide.
