TIE A KNOT

Although the manufacturer has a special metal crimp for securing strings with, we’ve always found tying a knot inside the claw cap much easier. This is because you can often reuse the existing string rather than thread a new one into the winding spool. We teach you how to remove the claw crimps and tie this knot in workshops.

If you ever do this with a jumbo claw, you also must remove and discard the metal capsule on top of the claw and remove and discard the plastic sheath near the stop up switch.
