This page shows you how to remove and replace caterpillar clips

When you do this on a machine it is a bit harder to get your fingers in. Move the gantry left to right or backwards forwards and as the clips go through the U bend, they open up allowing you to get access to unclip them. The important thing to remember with caterpillar clips is to remove the small top part first before removing links, and reverse that procedure by connecting the links first and replacing the top part last. The links will not separate if the top part is still on them.
