Repairing Machines

From time to time, franchisees and staff will need to replace parts on machines that simply plug in. While performing these changes, they will be accessing areas of the machine through which 230V flows. The danger is that workers could touch these live parts and receive an electric shock. The parts that the staff member may be changing include PCB boards, power supplies, and fuses.

Procedure

  • The staff member must have attended at least one technical workshop held by Support Office Staff or received thorough training from a franchisee.
  • Carry out technical repairs and maintenance in accordance with this manual, induction/appraisal training, and any group training seminars attended.
  • Phone the franchisee or technical line for direction if needed.
  • The machine must have an up-to-date compliance certificate.

Before beginning repair work on any area accessed by a key or related to changing parts, the machine must be unplugged and remain unplugged until the work is completed. Observe—Do Not Touch.
