Keep adequate stock at home

Keeping sufficient spare stock is a vital part of running a successful Kiwikrane business.

There are natural seasonal rhythms in the Kiwikrane year. For example:

  • February (back-to-school) and October/November (Guy Fawkes) tend to be slower months.

  • School term holidays are often much busier than usual.

It is important to understand your inventory and historical trends, and to use this knowledge to forecast and hold more stock than you think you will need for the upcoming weeks.

Relying on a “just-in-time” system is a false economy. Couriers can run late, parcels may get lost, and — as Murphy’s Law dictates — things sometimes go wrong. If your machine runs out of stock, it cannot generate revenue.

While we do our best to ship orders promptly, running out of stock usually indicates that an adequate safety margin was not planned. Always assume there could be delays in the supply process, and plan your stock levels accordingly.
