Don't create a jumble sale
Kiwikrane machines should be setting the standard in the industry, not falling below the level of our competitors.
In the past, some franchisees experimented with mixing multiple products in the same crane. This was often done in the belief that having a wider range of prizes would increase appeal, or simply because it was easier to add a few toys rather than fully changing the theme of a machine.
However, this is not a practice followed within the Kiwikrane system and is expressly not permitted for Kiwikrane franchisees.
(Please refer to the Kiwikrane National Standard Notices for full details.)
While mixing products may save time in the short term, it ultimately reduces the number of people playing. A messy or poorly themed machine also lowers the national image and overall standard of all Kiwikrane machines.
A “jumble sale” style machine has many disadvantages, including:
No strong, clean theme
No suitable poster to support the display
The claw behaves differently across different prizes and may not move many of them at all
The lightest products are easily won
Heavier products look unfair because the claw simply glides off them
You effectively “play all your cards” in a single machine instead of spreading variety across multiple cranes
The machine looks messy and unprofessional
Players are less likely to return because they feel the machine is unfair or “rigged”
We end up looking like other operators who don’t understand how to run crane machines properly
Maintaining clean themes, consistent prizes, and professional presentation is a key part of protecting the Kiwikrane brand and ensuring customers continue to trust and enjoy playing our machines.
