Merchandising Your Crane
Treat your crane like a shop window display and try to imagine how it looks from a customer’s point of view.
A well-presented machine will attract attention and encourage people to play.
Things to Remember
Face the toys toward the customer
Position toys so their eyes face forward (or logos if using balls).
People are naturally drawn to eyes and faces, not the backs of toys.
Pack toys loosely
Avoid packing toys too tightly. Think about creating “Mountains and Valleys” in the stock so the claw can move around prizes and pick them up more easily.
Use all viewing angles
Depending on the machine’s position, customers may be able to see into the crane from three sides — not just the front. Make sure the display looks appealing from every visible window.
Refresh the display regularly
If something stays the same for too long, people stop noticing it. Regularly:
Fluff the toys
Move the toys on the top layer and side windows
- When turnover reduces – refresh the crane with a stock change
Keeping the display fresh helps ensure customers continue to notice and play the machine.
