Compulsary Compliance Testing

All Kiwikrane machines come under the AS/NZS 3760 standard and as they are located in an “Environment where the equipment or supply flexible cord is subject to flexing in normal use OR is open to abuse OR is in a hostile environment” (i.e. open access area where people could damage the cord or equipment) the maximum time between the machines being Compliance Tested (Test and Tagged) is twelve months.

(NOTE: As the cord to a Kiwikrane Machine is not hard wired both the cord and the machine need to have a Test and Tag sticker. A number of electricians or Test and Taggers don’t understand this. Please inform them when booking them for your next Test and Tag.)

Just imagine the outcome if a child was electrocuted or a crane caused a fire. If the crane did not have a current Test and Tag then you wouldn’t be able to prove you had taken all reasonable steps to ensure the public or venue safety. You could then be in a position of possible prosecution, or a denial of insurance. The Kiwikrane brand could also suffer on a national basis through negative publicity or national brands not allowing cranes anymore on their sites.

There are a multitude of reasons why Kiwikrane mandates all sited cranes have a current Test and Tag.
