Commission Books
Commission Book – How to Fill It Out
The commission book must have all of the following fields completed on every collection:
Start and end coin meter readings
Start and end note meter readings
Start and end prize meter readings
Prize quantities added at check-ups and collections
Total collected
Total commission paid on site
Signature
White & Yellow Copies
Each commission slip has two copies:
White copy – leave this with the site along with the commission
Yellow copy – this is retained by you for your records
How to fill it out correctly:
Fill out the two left-hand columns first.
Fold the white copy over.
Complete the remaining column on the yellow copy for your own records.
Many of the yellow-copy fields are now captured in software, however the payout check is still important.
How to Do a Payout Check
Using your meter readings (and remembering if the machine is $1 or $2 per play), you can calculate:
Total money collected
Total number of prizes won
Your payout percentage
This is one of the most important checks you’ll do as an operator.
Example
Coin Meter Readings
Beginning: 01234
End: 01300
Total plays = 66
At $1 per play = $66 collected
Prize Meter Readings
Beginning: 56
End: 60
Total prizes won = 4
Prize Cost
4 × $6.30 = $25.20
Payout Calculation
$25.20 ÷ $66 = 0.38 (38%)
This means the payout last week was 38%, which is over the 30% benchmark.
What To Do If Payout Is High
Check whether the machine underpaid the previous week and is simply balancing out.
If not, the claw settings should be slightly adjusted to bring payout back toward the 30% target.
