AA - How To Present Machines
Kiwikrane aims to be the industry leader, with the best-looking and best-performing machines in the market. Presentation is a vital part of this.
We’ve all seen examples of non-Kiwikrane machines that resemble second-hand junk shops — a mix of unrelated products, poor presentation, and, in some cases, items that cannot physically be won by the claw. This undermines player trust and damages the reputation of the industry as a whole.
To maintain a premium, professional standard across the network, Kiwikrane has established the following National Machine Presentation and Stocking Standards:
Stocking & Machine Standards
Single product type with a similar size
Single product type with a similar value
Full stock levels at all times
Product-related poster displayed on the machine
Machines must be well presented, clean, and properly maintained
These national standards are set out and explained in more detail in the two notices below (including photo examples). Compliance with these standards is mandatory for every machine operating within the Kiwikrane system.

Remember:
- Our goal is for the claw to move the prize enough to give players that “almost” feeling. This creates excitement and encourages repeat play, as customers don’t feel “ripped off.”
- To achieve this, take care when setting voltages and think in terms of “mountains and valleys” when stocking the machine. This allows the claw to move freely around the prizes and engage them properly.
- Ideally, the claw should lift the product and then allow it to slip from the claw fingers as it is raised. This creates the near-win experience that keeps players coming back.
- When merchandising, make sure prizes are displayed with faces/eyes facing the customer, not bottoms. Customers naturally find eyes and faces more appealing and are more likely to play for prizes that “look back” at them.
